Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualifications (As on 1st October 2026)
- Generalist Officers: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (55% for SC/ST candidates).
- Specialist Officers:
- Legal: Graduate / Post Graduate in Law (LL.B / LL.M) with minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).
- Finance: Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost Accountant (CMA) or B.Com / M.Com with minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).
- IT: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Computer Science / Information Technology or MCA with minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).
- Automobile Engineering: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Automobile Engineering with minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).
- Agriculture & CS: Relevant degree/certification from a recognized institution with minimum required qualifying marks.
2. Age Limit (As of 1st October 2026)
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 30 years (Candidate must not be born earlier than 02/10/1996 and not later than 01/10/2005).

Selection Process & Assessment Stages
The recruitment process for NICL AO Scale-I positions follows a three-tier evaluation structure:
- Phase-I: Preliminary Online Examination (17th November 2026): Objective screening test covering English Language, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude (100 Marks).
- Phase-II: Main Online Examination (22nd December 2026): Objective Test (testing Reasoning, English, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, and Discipline-specific knowledge) + Descriptive Test (Essay & Precis writing).
